According to several sources, the incident occurred Saturday at a home near Skiatook, OK when Osage County Sheriffs were performing a requested welfare check on 28-year old Rebecca McCurdy.
Via report by the Osage County sheriffs, they found evidence that the woman had died of an apparent attack by pit bulls while house-sitting, and dog-sitting for her friend. They reportedly found her body in the garage, as McCurdy had been watching the dogs while the homeowner was away.
The sheriffs also stated on their report that the homeowner had allegedly said that he was raising pit bulls “for hobby and for sale.”
The suspected dogs were taken into custody during the investigation, and may likely have to be put down.
As for McCurdy, an online obituary, and GoFundMe campaign has been started for her family.
