Tiger Woods is undergoing surgery after sustaining ‘multiple leg injuries’ in a serious car crash in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning where firefighters had to use ‘jaws of life’ to pry him from his car.
The golfer was driving alone near Rancho Palos Verdes when his vehicle flipped over.
Fire fighters had to use a device known as the ‘jaws of life’ to break open the car and rescue him.
His condition is not known but his agent Mark Steinberg told Golf Digest: ‘Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries.
‘He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.’
It occurred shortly after 7am and no one else was injured. Woods was previously arrested on a DUI in 2017. The cause of Tuesday’s crash is unknown.
