Lori Vallow has been deemed unfit to stand trial for the murder of her two children, even as Arizona police announce they have submitted a conspiracy to commit first-degree murder charge against her in the death of her fourth husband Charles Vallow.

A document filed with the Fremont County, Idaho court on Thursday said an order for a competency evaluation was made under seal to determine her fitness to proceed with the trial after it was called into question by counsel.

A psychologist performed an assessment and found that ‘at this time the defendant is not competent to proceed, and recommends restorative treatment.’

The document continues: ‘The court has now been advised that the state contests the finding of the report.’

The psychologist did not explain his decision, but friends and family have alleged that Lori extreme religious beliefs, including that she is a prophet sent to Earth to lead the ‘chosen 144,000’ into the New Millennium and has to eradicate the world of ‘zombies’ before Doomsday arrived.

A hearing will be held because of the opposition from prosecutors, but in the meantime, the case has been stayed.

Moments after the document was made public, Chandler Police Department in Arizona announced they submitted the conspiracy charged to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office on April 1, according to 12News.

Vallow and her husband, Chad Daybell were charged with first-degree murder in her children’s deaths earlier this week.

Tylee Ryan, 17, and Joshua “JJ” Vallow, 7, were last seen in September 2019. Their disappearances and Vallow and Daybell’s “doomsday” religious beliefs sparked national attention.

The couple skipped town after their children went missing and were found months later in Hawaii. Law enforcement officers stretching across several states were left to piece together their alleged involvement in multiple missing persons and suspicious death cases, including the ex-spouses of both Vallow and Daybell.

Investigators are seen searching the area of Chad’s yard where they found JJ and Tylee’s bodies on June 9, 2020

Daybell remains charged with the children’s killings. He is also charged with first-degree murder in the death of his then-wife Tammy Daybell, who was found dead in her home in October 2019 not long after the children went missing.

Police in Chandler, Arizona, told Insider Thursday that they are also requesting that the Maricopa County District Attorney charge Vallow in the death of her ex-husband Charles Vallow.

Charles Vallow feared for his life

Steven Ellsworth, an attorney who represented Charles Vallow in his divorce, released a statement Thursday saying he was grateful that the Chandler police department is requesting Vallow be charged.

“Charles feared for his life and predicted his demise from the moment he walked into our office and said, ‘If anything happens to me, it was Lori and her brother Alex who did it to me,'” Ellsworth wrote in the statement.
